Our first Comenius meeting in the second year of the project was a visit to Romania, to Târgoviște. Târgoviște, which was once the main center of the Romanian province of Wallachia and, as the name suggests, an important economic center, is proud of its rich past while its famous Chindia tower reminds us of the rule of an even more famous person, Prince Vlad Țepeș.
The first day of the meeting can easily be described as a beautiful musical and theatrical experience. With a series of instrumental recitals the host school proudly showed off their skills, and introduced us to the Romanian traditional instruments and dances.
After a brief tour of the school and the lunch, we went for a walk and visited Chindia tower with associated excavation area of the surrounding buildings. |
We spent the second day in the Romanian capital, Bucharest. We visited the beautiful Cotroceni Palace which was a monastery in the 17th century, and since 1991 serves as the residence of the Romanian President.

After the presidential palace, we visited the open air village museum where we could see authentic rural buildings from the past. |
