The aim of the project is to make students aware of their home town history through intercultural education. We aim to encourage them to learn more about history of different European countries, comparing similarities and differences in the chosen legends, hence emphasizing cultural diversity and the need for cultural tolerance and inappropriateness of prejudice.
In the project students will be important participants in their local communities since the products of the project will be used by different institutions. Also, their work will undoubtedly enrich local tourist offer. Our students will research TWO LEGENDS about their home town and describe them in several ways, e. g. they will create a model of a scene or the setting, posters, videos, animations, etc. |
Also, students will create their own heroes and legends, in written form and a chosen visual arts method (comics, paintings, etc.). The final products of the project will be a CD-ROM, a printed collection of our work (a book), a comparative multilingual glossary, an interactive eBook and a project web site, all of which will be used for dissemination in our schools and our local communities.
Students will express themselves in various ways and improve their skills in writing, arts and ICT. Furthermore, students and teachers from partner schools will get a chance to travel to foreign countries and communicate in English which will allow full participation of the students and the teaching staff. |
