I enjoyed this meeting a lot and on so many levels. Traveller in me kept daydreaming while walking through the Moravian forest, historian in me looked at the Slavkov fields and saw the battle of Austerlitz clear as it happened in 1805 and the teacher in me repeated everything I learned in the past two years.
And I learned this: friendship doesn’t follow the rules of boundaries; it breaks them and erases them so that only strong connections remain. And that is how I feel about every person I met during these two years. No matter how different we seemed at first, how different our life’s priorities are and what we are accustomed to do, we managed to know and truly care for one another.
As I am writing this I’m starting to feel that sadness again, knowing that it may take some time for us to meet outside this project but all the great memories and products we built together will always be a reminder of this unforgettable experience.
