First of all, I have to share with you my thoughts about Martin. It was not the way I imagined, but in a good sense…
I was surprised to see that such a little town can show us so many beautiful things and places. One of the things that stole my attention was those beautiful buildings. Each building in this little town is painted. It’s amazing how these people have an interest for details. Because of the look of those buildings, Martin seemed to me a rich town.
All the places I visited during that week in that cultural centre of Slovakia and around it (The National Museum, Martin Benka Museum, The National Library, The National Museum of Literature, The Museum of the Slovak Village, the High Tatras and so on) nourished my curiosity about the history of Slovaks, about the past of those places, about the similarities and differences between us and our histories. I still remember a few names of famous writers: Hviesdoslav, Timrova, Kukucin who had their own corner of memories in that great museum.
One of the days we worked at school, we had the chance to learn a few skills about how to spend your time in a lovely way. So I was happy to have the chance to do things like decorating gingerbread or wax painting using the iron…Really interesting activities that I want to improve here, at home. I also loved that lesson on Slovak Language. Unfortunately, it was too hard for me to pronounce certain words, but it was really fun and interesting. I could hear myself speaking Slovak language, even if only basics. Anyway, if I will ever meet a Slovak, I’ll be proud to say “Ahoj!” to him or her… J
I really enjoyed being there with everyone and share so many experiences, emotions and feelings. I wish something similar happens to me at least once a year…

Our trip to Martin was fabulous, it was much better than the trip to Wroclaw. The rooms where comfortable and big. We met a lot of people and made special friendships with the Polish girls. We are very satisfied and we hope that we are going to see them again and remember the trip forever.

In Slovakia it was great. I learned something new, met new friends and learned some words from Slovakian language. We had fun all 5 days. I will remember this trip forever.
